DESCRIPTION:The Toronto Jazz Orchestra is one of Canada’s premier big bands\, bringing the thrilling sound of big band jazz to audiences since 1998. This dynamic 18-piece ensemble performs music by many of the most important composers in jazz while also championing outstanding Canadian writers and arrangers. Led by founder\, Artistic Director\, and conductor Josh Grossman\, the orchestra’s repertoire spans classic swing to bold contemporary jazz\, performed with exceptional energy and precision. A regular presence on Toronto’s vibrant jazz scene and at festivals and concert halls across Ontario\, the Toronto Jazz Orchestra is celebrated for its powerful live performances that both honour the rich tradition of big band music and bring it vividly to life for today’s audiences.
