Chris McKhool Earth, Seas & Air

November 16 @ 1:00 PM

Cushion Concert! Part musical performance, part environmentalism and 100% fun! This award-winning show is fully interactive, as kids join the Chris McKhool and his musical friends from Sultans of String on stage playing percussion instruments from around the globe, dance to the global grooves, and sing songs about taking care of our planet. For three decades, Chris has taken his audience beyond the 3 R’s of ecology (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to a new level of understanding of our global connection to forests, air, water and animals. Everyone leaves with the feeling that they can really make a difference!

Thank you to the Arts and Culture Fund of the City of Burlington for their support of this concert.

Chris McKhool

Hailed as a “Children’s musical star” (National Post), Chris McKhool is one of Canada’s hottest musicians for young people. Chris has been delighting audiences with compelling songs and exotic world instruments for over two decades, reaching over 1 million children live in concert, and has appeared on Mr. Dressup, YTV’s Treehouse, TVOntario’s Crawlspace and the CBC.

Chris was just presented the Key to the City of Burlington for his work creating community through music. He is also a 4x JUNO Award nominee/7x CFMA winner. A champion of environmental issues, Chris created the World’s Largest Bicycle Bell Orchestra at Yonge-Dundas Square with over 800 bell ringers! He was nominated for a JUNO Award for Best Children’s Album, and won the Canadian Folk Music Award for Children’s Album of the Year! He’s also a multiple Parents’ Choice Award Winner and a Green Toronto Award Winner, and was just inducted into The Burlington Performing Arts Centre’s Hall of Fame.

“Chris McKhool isn’t sure if he’s ready to be mentioned in the same breath as Raffi and Fred Penner. But with a new CD and a growing list of fans, the ‘eco-troubadour’ may soon no longer have any choice.”
– Sean Lynch, The Ottawa Citizen
